On November 22, 2010 I got a call from Hurricane Elementary. Porter had hurt his arm and said he couldn't do anything with it. I talked to him, (I was at work and Rowdy was working at the Range) and he started to cry. So I left work to go get him. He was in alot of pain as I tried to take his long sleeve shirt off and look at his arm. I could tell his elbow was a little swollen and the way he cried I could tell this wasn't just a little bump. I took him to the Instacare and they took X rays and came back and said he had a fracture on his elbow. They put it in a splint and sling and told us to call the doc in a couple of days after the swelling goes down, to get the cast on. Porter did really well as far as pain. I thought he would be up during the night with pain, but he wasn't. On Wednesday the 24th (day before Thanksgiving) we went and got his cast. He chose the Americana red, white, blue with stars. It was either that or the camo. Because it was his elbow, they had to cast above it. He did really well with it and got some signatures. The doctor (Dr. Amanda Jocelyn) told him he couldn't use it as a weapon and to my surprise he never did. We got hit or scraped a couple of times but it was accidentally. It was funny to watch him try to maneuver and do things with only one had but he became a pro!
