Porter's Birthday Party

So yes it has been a long time since I have actually blogged anything. So I will try catch up. We celebrated Porter's birthday on a saturday. We had 12 kids show up and I was a little nervous about not having enough space in our tiny apartment, but it worked out.(Thought about having it at the park but glad we didn't. It rained that day.) We had a baseball theme. I made the invitations to look like baseball tickets. I took one off the internet and changed it all around. I have to admit, I thought it turned out pretty cool considering what I started out with. To go along with that theme, we were going to make baseball shirts. I was going to iron on their names on the back, then decided maybe just a number and they could draw and write their own names. Well, I should have done it sooner, but I procrastinate and started working on them at 10pm the night before. It did't go as I hoped, so they just colored on them. I was going to make cupcakes to look like baseballs but that didn't happen either. I think I just got wore out and tired of planning. We did play a game like pin the tail on the donkey only place the ball on the bat. The kids were going to play baseball on the WII but that soon got changed to Mario Kart. The treat bags had popcorn in them like you would get at a baseball game. Oh well, so much for my themed birthday. But I think the kids had fun anyway.

the kids had a "ball"-- at least seth did. he loves to makes shirts, and mario-kart is always a hit for him! so much planning, and its over in a short time, and who knows if it's appreciated, eh? that's why we don't do it every year!!!

You know, I've learned that kids don't care about stuff like that so if it doesn't happen the way we envision it, they won't know the difference!

I think they had a great time by looking at the pictures.
