Porter started asking us when the count fair was about 3 weeks before. I didn't know he remembered that much about it from the year before, but apparently he did. So almost every day, not quite, I had to explain to him when we could go to the fair. As you know, explaining time to a 4 year old is not the easiest thing to do. So we got out the calendar and circled August 6th and counted down. We met Christy and Kade and their kids. It is tradition to go with them now. Porter and Carver have a good time together. We started out on the kiddie rides, but then Porter and Carver surprised me by wanting to go on one of the bigger rides. I don't remember then name of it and of course my camera had died by that point. It is the one where you sit down and it takes you in a circle and drops you. I know, that sounds like alot of the rides. I tried to tell Porter it would make his tummy feel funny but he wanted to go anyway. I think I was more nervous for him. He got on and as it started he looked a little worried. I hoped he wouldn't start screaming. He never cracked a smile but when he got off he told me he wanted to go again. Silly boy. Shandlee went on a couple of rides. She didn't want to sit on the Merry-go-Round so I had to hold her. She sat with Porter on another ride and didn't quite know what to think. I think they will want to go again next year. And yes, Porter has already started asking me when we can go again.....
